The fine folks at Pix-Star sent me one of their digital photo frames to check out and review. I have some horrible video (sorry, it’s my first unboxing, but I’ll get better
I also have some pics and, of course, my thoughts and opinions about the photo frame. Overall, I was pretty impressed and think it’s worth the money if you want something that can access the Internet. For some, the fact that they can buy the frame for a family member and keep uploading it with new photos – all remotely – is the biggest selling point.

Coby DP802 8-Inch
In a world where people have becoming multitasking machines, it’s only logical that we expect the same sort of variety in performance from our media devices.
The Coby DP802 Digital Photo Frame certainly lives up to this desire, offering a fair number of usage options at a bargain price in the digital frame field.
Customers who choose the Coby frame receive the full benefit of numerous features, including:
- An 8″ widescreen TFT LCD color display that makes your digital photos shine with brightness and crisp color contrasts
- The choice between two interchangeable acrylic frames in both white and black
- A design that can display JPEG image files as well as playing MP3 and WMA audio files
- A fun video feature that is compatible with MPEG, AVI and XviD formats with integrated speakers for an easy use experience
Add to all of that even more bonus features, like the AVI output feature that allows use with home theater systems or this frame’s compatibility with several kinds of memory cards and you have a low budget digital picture frame that offers a surprising number of features.
What’s more, the overall design of the unit is completely intuitive, making use simple for those users who aren’t as tech-savvy as they could be. A slideshow feature and the ability to zoom mean that you can really enjoy the full scope of your photos without having too worry too much about editing.
There are, of course, a few design quirks worth mentioning. One of the major flaws is the inability to simultaneously play MP3 files and view your pictures. While an inconvenient flaw, this is certainly not a fatal one, as the MP3 player is an unexpected bonus rather than the primary reason you would buy this product. For the casual digital photographer, this frame offers a good product at a great price.

Right off the bat, anyone who sees the W820 digital photo frame will certainly like its looks because it is somewhere between the conservative and modern-styled gadget digital photo frames. It embraces its high-tech style but is not completely dominated by its high-tech nature.
The features of Kodak EasyShare W820 include:
- 8″ LCD (800×480 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio)
- Multimedia support for MMC, SD, MS, CF xD, external memory

The content you can get from the Internet using this frame’s WiFi connection, as well as the ease of doing it, really makes the EasyShare W820 worth using.
Its interface design is excellent and clearly superior to other digital photo frames. Minimal bug fixes would make the W820 perfect; however, even without them, it still remains as one of the best, solidly built, and exceptionally functional digital photo frames available in the market today, making its price easier to rationalize.
