You can also connect the frame directly to your PC or MAC and transfer movies, music or other images (note the frame does not resize files from a computer only directly from a memory card or USB flash drive!)

The frame’s motion sensor operates by switching the frame off when it senses no movement. You can set the frame to power off after sensing no movement for any period of time from 1 second through to 24 hrs down to the second!

The motion sensor makes the frame ideal for commercial use too: grab customer attention with the motion sensor. Remind employees of SOP’s or announcements when they pass by. Hospitals worldwide use motion-sensing frames to remind staff of hygiene procedures at key locations.

The first thing to note about this frame is that it is WiFi enabled. That’s actually really cool. It allows your photo frame to grab pictures from an online web gallery or you can even email photos to the frame. Not every frame can do that. You can also get news on the frame via the WiFi connection, which is really cool.

The instructions are a bit light, but luckily the frame’s not difficult to set-up at all. Even the WiFi should be easy to set-up if you have a network already. Once you have the WiFi set-up, it basically comes down to finding a good place in your home or office to put the frame.

For the price (around $160), this is a top-notch 8″ digital picture frame with the extras that matter.  The fact that your photo frame has its own email address is pretty cool. That feature alone makes it a GREAT GIFT for relatives. You set the frame up in their home and can send them new photos ALL YEAR LONG. How cool is that?

The product is 10 x 10 x 2 inches and weighs around three pounds. There’s a power cord so you don’t have to worry about batteries in the frame. (Not sure about the remote control yet.) Oh yeah – it has a handy remote control that makes it even easier to use – from across the room even.

By default, this Pix-Star frame displays the pictures on its 1GB internal memory, 10,000 photos on average, which can be obtained via email, SD card, or USB, but it can also display online albums from Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, Windows Live, Smugmug, Photobucket, Shutterfly, MobileMe, Phanfar, Koffeephoto and more. All you will need to change is the “source” of the pictures, which can be done in the frame’s menu, no need to log into your online account.

Some people have reported problems with the “random” feature not being too random, but this was pretty minor compared to the picture quality of the photo frame. Also, some said they had trouble loading photos onto the frame. This didn’t effect everyone, but if you have trouble with all things technical, you may want to get help with this photo frame – or avoid it altogether.

On the bright side, many reviewers around the Internet raved about the vibrant and colorful picture quality. The 2GB of storage (thousands of photos for most people), auto resizing, and other features rounded out the reasons so many people love this digital photo frame from HP. It’s priced less than a Sony frame of the same size. If you can get around the clunkiness of adding photos to the frame, you can save a little money and get a great frame that displays pictures wonderfully.
