The HP picture frame is an innovative way of displaying your photographs and other images without the use of a computer. The picture frame is actually a simple computer that is programmed to display the images and movies that are stored in its internal memory or those that are kept in memory cards.

There is no way to directly transfer photographs in a PC to the internal memory of the HP picture frame. Thus, the first step in transferring photos to the picture frame is to copy them first to a flash drive or similar memory device:

  • Attach a flash drive or thumb drive to the USB port of your PC.
  • Oftentimes, the folder representing your flash drive will automatically open if it is set for Auto Play
  • Open the folder in your PC that contains the photographs
  • Select a file to copy by pointing at it and then right-clicking so that a menu appears
  • Choose “Send to” then “Removable Disk”
  • If you want to select several images at once, press the Ctrl key while you are making your choices
  • After copying the files to the flash drive, follow the procedure for safely removing the drive
  • You may then insert this flash drive to the USB port of the picture frame
  • When the picture frame is turned on, the photos in the flash drive will automatically be displayed as a slideshow

You may also transfer photographs from your flash drive to the internal memory of the picture frame, one by one:

  • While a picture is on display on the HP picture frame, you simply press the Copy/Delete button
  • The message “Copy Picture to” will appear. You will then press the Play/Pause button to choose Internal Memory
  • Press the button again to complete the procedure
  • Repeat the process for the other pictures that you want to save
